Pattern Review: McCall’s M7755 Jumpsuit

Jumpsuits are very in right now. They are an easy throw on and go option for days when you don’t want to think about what to wear. Aside from having to get naked to pee, I really wanted one and this is definitely a pattern I would make again.

Here is McCall’s 7755. With only 5 pattern pieces, it’s a pretty simple pattern that comes together fairly quickly. I’m really loving this piece for several reasons. It’s super comfy, yet kinda dressy. I honestly expected it to be much more casual based on the pattern envelope. But, the fabric I used definitely helped to elevate it quite a bit. I picked this burgundy crepe up for 2.99 / yard at my favorite discount fabric store. I sewed view B. It can be worn with or without out the belt making this a two for one!

Pattern Adjustments

Because I’m short, I had to make a couple of adjustments to the pattern to account for my abbreviated legs and torso to get the length and fit I wanted.

  1. Took an inch out of the top at the shorten line

  2. Followed cut lines for S at the top, M in the crotch and L in the hips

  3. Extended the length of the inseam to just below my ankle and to make up for length lost from previous adjustment.

  4. Sewed the center front slit in the top closed an extra 2 inches… again short torso.

  5. Lengthened and widened the waist tie. I like a larger bow.
